Anthony E. Brissett, M.D., is the director of the Baylor Facial Plastic Surgery
Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the
American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Brissett is an assistant
professor in the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at
Baylor College of Medicine. He is actively involved in teaching and has published numerous
scientific papers and book chapters and has given invited lectures across the United States and
internationally. His clinical interests include all aspects of facial rejuvenation and cosmetic
surgery with a special interest in browlifts, facelifts, blepharoplasty (eyelids), and nasal surgery.
His research interests include wound healing and models of fibrosis, with a special interest in
keloids, hypertrophic scars, and facial nerve disorders.
Dr. Brissett graduated magna cum laude from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with a
Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. He received his medical degree from Wayne State
University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in otorhinolaryngology-head
and neck surgery at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he became a
clinician investigator and special project scientist. Dr. Brissett was awarded a fellowship in facial
plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota with Peter A. Hilger, M.D., in the
Department of Otorhinolaryngology.
Despite a busy professional life, Dr. Brissett finds time to participate in community outreach
programs. He is the program director for the Look Good Feel Better Program and works as a
medical mission volunteer through The Ecuadent Foundation. He volunteers with Children's
Surgery International to help children in developing countries who need medical services. In
addition, he is an official in the United States Amateur Boxing Association and is a youth mentor
volunteer.
